Overview
How many people in your office have tried Copilot, received a generic answer, and never opened it again? In most companies that is the majority, and even the regulars hesitate over what they are allowed to paste in.
This programme fixes that in two days, inside the same chat window. Each participant brings one weekly task, learns to brief Copilot with the RCR Framework (Role, Context, Request) and 5W1H, settles the privacy question, then sharpens the prompt with Meta Prompting and Reverse Prompting, methods that carry into any chatbot. Everyone leaves with a tested Personal Prompt Library and one real task rebuilt, presented and running.
Who should attend
- Staff at any level and in any department who use Microsoft Copilot through the browser
- People who tried Copilot before and gave up
- Mixed groups, since every participant works on tasks from their own job
What you will be able to do
- Brief Copilot Chat with the RCR Framework and 5W1H to get usable answers on real work tasks.
- Decide what can and cannot go into an AI chat, and rework confidential material so the task still gets done.
- Upload files and images, analyse a spreadsheet, generate an image, and save an answer to a Page.
- Improve prompts with Meta Prompting, and use Reverse Prompting when you cannot describe what you need.
- Build and test a Personal Prompt Library in Word or OneNote covering your five most repeated tasks.
- Carry one real task from rough idea to tested prompt and filed entry, then present it to the room.
Course content
Day 1: The framework, the rules and the functions
- Dialogue, the RCR Framework and 5W1H: map your weekly tasks on an Effort and Frequency grid, choose one to carry through both days, build a brief for it live in Copilot Chat, and review a colleague's brief before Copilot sees it.
- Privacy and confidentiality: sorting the material on your desk into what may go into an AI chat and what may not, what the green shield on a work sign-in protects and the two things it does not, and reworking a task with placeholders and dummy data.
- Advanced Copilot Chat functions: attaching files, photos and screenshots, analysing a spreadsheet, generating an image from a written prompt, and comparing a quick answer with a deeper one before saving the better one to a Page.
Day 2: The techniques, the library and the rebuild
- Meta Prompting and Reverse Prompting: repairing a prompt that no longer works, and an interview-style method for when you know what you need but cannot put it into words.
- Building a Personal Prompt Library: one working prompt for each of your five most repeated tasks, tested in the room, improved with Copilot's own critique and kept in one Word or OneNote document, plus where custom instructions, the Prompt Gallery and custom agents fit.
- Capstone, one real task presented to the room: rebuild the task you chose on Day 1 with coaching, run the prompt on a real working file, and present the old way, the new way and your filed prompt.
