Overview
How many hours of your week go on work that starts from a blank page? The offer letter, the visitor SOP, the show follow-up and the monthly report get written the slow way, on a laptop that already has Gemini in it. Nobody has shown you what to do with it.
Two days put Gemini to work on those jobs. Day 1 teaches the asking: a prompt that works first time, your own documents attached, long drafts in Canvas, and images. Day 2 builds the things you keep: a notebook that answers from your own files, a deck, a saved assistant, and one real task from your week, rebuilt before you leave.
Who should attend
- HR, admin, marketing and sales staff whose week runs on letters, SOPs, campaigns, quotations and reports
- The managers who sign those documents off
- Participants from non-technical roles; no technical background is needed
What you will be able to do
- Write an RCR prompt that gets a usable answer first time, and know what never goes into Gemini.
- Attach a file from Drive, draft a long document in Canvas, and run one Deep Research report.
- Improve a prompt with meta prompting, and let Gemini interview you when you cannot describe the task.
- Make an on-brand image in Gemini from a five-part prompt, and know what a generated video can and cannot do.
- Build a notebook that answers from your own documents with a citation, then turn it into an infographic.
- Build a deck from a Canvas draft or a notebook, then finish it one slide at a time.
- Save your five most-used prompts in one document, and build one Gem for a task you repeat every week.
- Rebuild one real task from your own week, end to end, and show the room the hours saved.
Course content
Day 1: The asking
- AI fundamentals and the RCR framework: what a chatbot can and cannot do, proved on your own screen, RCR (Role, Context, Request) rebuilt live on a prompt from the room with 5W1H for the context, what never goes into Gemini even on a company account, and how to catch a confident wrong answer.
- Beyond the chat box: attaching a document from Drive and reading a 40-page policy back as a one-page FAQ, Canvas for a long document where one paragraph changes and the rest stays, and Deep Research returning a sourced report on a supplier, a prospect or a market.
- Advanced prompting: meta prompting to repair a prompt that gives flat results, reverse prompting to let Gemini interview you one question at a time, and which technique to reach for.
- AI images and video in Gemini: the five levers of a visual prompt (subject, style, lighting, background and camera angle), a product photo placed into a generated scene, one saved style prompt so every image matches the brand, and a trainer demonstration of short video with its honest limits.
Day 2: The things you keep
- Gemini Notebook: a notebook built from your own files with an answer and a page citation instead of a guess, a handbook, brochure or SOP folder turned into an infographic, a video overview and an audio briefing, and the notebook attached to a Gemini chat.
- Presentations: a pitch or monthly report exported from a Canvas draft to Slides, or from a notebook as PowerPoint, Gamma on its free tier briefed one paragraph per slide, and editing by naming the slide.
- Custom assistants, Gemini Gems: your five most repeated tasks with one tested prompt each, and one Gem for a weekly task with a role, the files it always reads and the rules it never breaks, shared with the team.
- Capstone, transforming your own workflow: place five tasks from your week on the Effort and Frequency grid, rebuild the top one with the trainer beside you, and show the room the old way, the new way and the hours saved.
How it runs
- Hands-on practice with interactive lectures and live demonstrations, with one running case study across both days.
- Practice runs on the Gemini app and Gemini Notebook in Google Workspace.
- Bring a laptop signed in to your Google Workspace account, and one task from your week you would like off your plate.
- The capstone is presented to the room, with peer review. Delivered in person.
